Betreff: New appointment: Head of UBS AM APAC
To all AM and aligned; all UBS APAC employees
Dear colleagues,
After 28 years at UBS, Rene Buehlmann has decided to take a sabbatical and plans to take on a new opportunity within UBS upon his return. We would like to offer our thanks to Rene for the tireless energy and passion he has brought to building out our APAC franchise and Wholesale business, as well as driving our China initiative, over the past five years. Under his leadership, we have established high-caliber teams across the region to successfully take the UBS AM businesses forward.
As we enter 2019, the industry and market challenges are intensifying. Capturing opportunities in the fast-growing and dynamic APAC region – building on our leading capabilities, strong momentum and unique position in China – will be key to achieving our growth ambitions.
With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that Raymond Yin will be appointed Head of the APAC region for UBS AM, in addition to his role as Head of China Onshore, effective 1 February. In this new capacity he will join the UBS AM Executive Committee, reporting directly to Ulrich Koerner, and will remain based in Shanghai. He will also become a member of the UBS Group APAC Executive Committee, with a dotted reporting line to Ed Koh, and join the UBS AM Client Coverage Management Committee.
Raymond has extensive experience building and leading businesses across Asia and his appointment underscores our long-term vision for China and APAC overall. We are confident that UBS AM's world-class capabilities, differentiated offering and highly-experienced local teams position the firm very strongly for the future.
Please join us in thanking Rene for his significant contribution to UBS AM and the APAC region, and in wishing him well for his well-deserved break and future endeavors. Please also join us in congratulating Raymond on his expanded role.
Best regards,
Ulrich Koerner
